Now, I'm not going to lie to you: I'm an internet pirate. 99% of my music is downloaded illegally through legal means. But I have discovered a group that I 100% REFUSE to acquire through any means other than buying their albums.

Cloud Cult.

I ran into a review of their latest album on The Sneeze [link] , and ever since I've had their sample music on loop from their website at [link] .


What can I say about Cloud Cult? I think The Sneeze definately put it best: "It's orchestral, epic and just the right amount of weird." I think the right word for it is... Indie Rock? Or something?

These are the songs in the sample player.

1. Everybody here Is A Cloud is the first song in the online player. Upbeat, catchy, and with deep lyrics, it makes me want to dance. xD

2. When Water Comes To Life starts out instrumental, and weaves it's way up towards an awesome song with, again, very deep lyrics (That make me want to cry, considering I think it's about the singer/songwriter's son that died)

3. Tornado Lessons. Again, this song starts out completely differently than how it ends. Slow and rock-like, but slipping into a really hip and catchy wave.

4. Take Your Medicine is the kind of song I love singing along with. It follows the pattern with being very random, and switching themes mid-song.

5. Pretty Voice is altogether a very pretty song. That's all I can really say.

6. Chain Reaction. Very uppity, but at the same time mellow. Again, starts out instrumental and then shifts.

7. Purpose is my favorite of these songs for it's lyrics. Listen to the words, and It'll make you think, too.

8. Outside Your Skin. Very hip, with a good rhythm to it. Also makes me want to dance.

9. Fairy Tale is the most RANDOM song I've ever HEARD. It's danceable, and catchy. Nice.

10. Sane As Can Be. This song makes me want to hug AALevi for some reason. It just, reminds me of him. Calm, with very personal lyrics.

11. Car Crash is a very depressing song, the only one with a female doing vocals on the samples. Kind of song that makes you sway from side to side.

12. Breakfast With My Shadow is the last song on the player. Slow, calm, but keeps the beat in your bones.



Radom entry, I know, but I want EVERYONE to hear these guys! They're amazing!
